Jesús San-Miguel, MD, PhD, is professor of Medicine-Hematology and Head of Clinical and Translational Medicine at the University of Navarra, which includes the role of Medical Director of the Clinica Universidad de Navarra, Scientific Director of CIMA and Vice-Dean of Research at the University of Navarra.
Dr. San Miguel is a leader in the field of multiple myeloma and monoclonal gammopathies. His group at the University of Navarra, in Pamplona, northern Spain, is composed of over 40 researchers and clinicians and serves as a referral center for diagnosis and disease monitoring. The team currently has over 30 active clinical trials, and has contributed to the approval of several treatments for myeloma. Dr Bruno Paiva acts as lab director for the group and they have especial focus on early detection and intervention as well as MRD through the integration of different methodological strategies such immunophenotype, genomics, immunotherapy, and animal models.
